A new vision in housing.
The Gold Coast Housing Company Limited (GCHC) is a not for profit charity that manages and develops community and affordable housing for those on low and moderate incomes.
The GCHC was established in 2007 through
the amalgamation of two well respected and nationally accredited community housing organisations, The Gold Coast Community Housing Association Inc. and
Gold Coast Vision Housing Ltd.
Both of these organisations had a long history in the provision of Community
Housing Programs, working with low income individuals and families and
contributing to the strong network of community organisations on the Gold Coast.
The GCHC recognises and values the foundations on which it was established and
seeks to build upon organisational strengths of client focus, innovation,
teamwork, responsiveness and financial prudence.
The resultant Gold Coast Housing Company is governed by a diverse and skilled
Board and operated by a staff team experienced in the development and management of community and affordable
housing. The company is a not-for-profit charity limited by shares.
On the Gold Coast, a large proportion of the population live in housing
stress with private rental costs having increased over the past five years.
Furthermore, social housing stock on the Gold Coast is well below the state
average. It is our goal to provide those in need with secure, appropriate and affordable accommodation through best-practice development and management.
