Introducing Horizon Housing Solutions
With both Community Housing Programs and Affordable Housing Projects we are able to provide a range of housing, enabling people on low incomes or facing homelessness to live affordably. During the 2009 / 2010 Annual General Meeting, HH Shareholders voted to create a company, Horizon Housing Solutions, as a separate charitable entity from Horizon Housing Company.
Horizon Housing Solutions functions as the affordable arm of our business, providing support to tenants primarily through the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS). NRAS is a rental subsidy program created and run by the Commonwealth Government in partnership with the State Governments.
People who live in a NRAS property are eligible for rents at least at 20% below the market rent for the properties. This means their rent is determined by the location of the property and the size of the property rather than by the tenants income as with traditional community housing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() NRAS PROPERTIES

The creation of this second entity has allowed HH the scope to focus on developing the affordable housing component of our business whilst maintaining our charitable community housing arm. Operating as part of HH’s team of professional staff Horizon Housing Solutions staff are property mangers who ensure partnerships, properties and tenancies are professionally developed and maintained. This team will continue their success with the backing and support of the HH business as a whole behind them. This change is beneficial for anyone dealing with HH as you will be dealing with specialists focused only on the housing market in which you are involved. With 1465 NRAS properties approved for management, the creation of Horizon Housing Solutions is a key step in achieving our strategic goals. | |||
